A heart warming story

I’m in desperate need of a heart warming story. You know the type, one of those stories that make you cry with tears of joy, thankful that you get to live in this crazy world.

Stories like Forrest Gump, Finding Neverland or Amelie; stories that are so close to reality but just outside the realm of the average negative day. Something that just sticks to your insides and won’t let you forget about it.

I want to write that type of movie!

But alas, I have no ideas like that at all. I feel like everything I come up with is a bunch of negative clichés strung together to shock and awe the audience. I don’t want to do that, at least not for this script. I want to show my grandma a movie and have her enjoy it.

I know if you’re reading this, you must be sick of these writer’s block posts. Imagine me, I’m sick of writing about not being able to write!

How about a story about a talking pig that leaves the country for the big city?

It's not much, but it warms my heart when I think about it....

Girls meets charming guy and thinks he’s the perfect mate
Only thing this girl ever wanted out of life was to marry and have kids. God she couldn’t wait to have kids… The yearning for children was so strong that the feeling was as much physical as emotional
Guy turns out to be intimidating, threatening, manipulative, emotionally abusive and overpowering leaving girl defeated, broken and without hope.
Girl tries to leave guy many times, even moving cross country, only to find herself incapable of functioning without him because he’s convinced her she needs him and he’s the only one who’ll have her
Girl finally wakes up one day and realizes her own strength, having survived his death threats and emotional abuse, and wizens up and leaves (with a lot of help from her network of friends) though she’s terrified he’ll find her and kill her
Moves in with her two best gay guy friends
Realizes what she’s been missing with their help of course (they’re not much help as far as protection from the ex, but when it comes to hair and fashion they’ve got her on the straight – no pun intended – and narrow)
Meets man of her dreams but is constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop
It never does
Man proposes, girl says yes
They buy their first home
Beautiful wedding, everyone is happy
They decide it’s time to have a baby
Girl is over the moon to find out that she is finally pregnant with the baby she’s long yearned for
All is well until one day about halfway through the pregnancy
Rushes to hospital only to discover that she’s near losing the baby
Bedrest is the only option
Hailstorm in summer tears up the house which causes costly outdoor repairs
Sewage backs up and house needs costly interior repairs
Have to live out of a camper in the driveway because there is no bathroom or kitchen in the “new” house due to these costly interior repairs
The problems and stresses are innumerable
Finally the house is habitable again
In-laws finishing up the paint in the kitchen when –
It’s time to have the baby!
Mommy and Daddy go to hospital where after a short, blessedly pain-free delivery a beautiful baby girl is born
Mommy cries and remembers everything she went through to get where she is at this particularly perfect moment and realizes she wouldn’t change a thing
The broken road that she traveled lead her directly to this one shining moment in her life
